So, I know I'm probably about five years behind on this, but... I don't ever really bother looking into music sites much until they've caught on.  I'm a late-bloomer with most internet things (that way, it hurts me less if/when they fail, like Guzzlefish did).

But anyway, I just randomly decided to go to Last.fm and punch in "Dream Theater," who are probably my favorite band overall.  It... started playing... Iced Earth for me.  Iced.  Earth.

It's like it knows me and wants to be my friend.

I might have to keep exploring this.  I'm just sorry I didn't look into it sooner when my girlfriend showed it to me.

At one stage Last FM was trying to recommend Linkin Park, The Cure and My Chemical Romance to me. It's like it knew all the bands I hated and wanted to mess with my head.

Yeah, me too.  There's nothing really going on with mine yet, and probably won't be for a little while, because I still have all of my music on my old computer and am yet to transfer it over to my new one.  So... it'll be a while until my profile is interesting.

I had one.  Then I deleted it.  True story.

KoasPilot, I went to your page thinking your QC forum name was a reference to the band.  Looking at your last FM, I'm assuming it isn't?

I've noticed a statistical anomaly here.  It seems everyone here listens to the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

What does this say about the collective tastes of QC?  Or did everyone just buy the train wreck that is Stadium Arcadium, like I did?

In other news...

Yours Truly,

The Vanilla Gorilla

It logs what songs your music player plays and makes all kinds of recommendations, links you with people, and just generally displays the stats in an interesting way on a shiny website.

I'm not sure how to explain the appeal of it but I'm a stats whore and I like music so it's pretty much perfect.

Fine.  Everyone but amok seems to listen to Red Hot Chili Peppers.  Yes DK, they even show up on your profile.  Statistically, that's still way above average for a band whose last good abum came out almost a decade ago.

Those will be the entries from my 'family' playlist. Or 'My Friends,' which is a tune.

My last.fm is going to be a bit skewed, because recently I've been listening to The Beatles and Godspeed You! Black Emperor.

Godspeed get through five songs in eighty minutes.
The Beatles get through 14 songs in half an hour.
