The Fountain

--- Quote from: pintsizeshomie on 27 Nov 2006, 02:11 ---the soundtrack was not enough to make the movie even halfway decent. sure there were pretty pictures also, but you have no clue what the fuck the filmaker is trying to tell you. Buy the soundtrack and forego the movie.

hmm i couldn't disagree more i don't think. yes, the movie is complex and the ultimate message is obscure. but since when is that a bad thing? people don't pan dali paintings b/c thier meaning is ambiguous. people don't rip whitman b/c his poems provoke discussion. movies should be no different. the ultimate message and meaning of the fountain isn't clear. but it's a beautiful film and it definetly is thought provoking, as all art aught to be. see the movie, think about the movie, and buy the soundtrack. it's just one of many wonderful aspects of the film.

i thought that after about 5 minutes of thinking about it that it all made sense. The soundtrack however (as that is the point of the thread) is absolutely mindblowing and the climactic burst at the end of Death Is The Road To Awe is incredible in its execution. A must have for anyone.
