My artwork (critique)
« on: 14 Dec 2006, 02:54 »

I'd like to hear some feedback on a couple of strips I did for my site. Good or ill if you will.

I like the drawing style and thick lines, it looks nice.
Also I'd like to see how will it improve after a few months :)

Only the font is a bit too heavy and difficult to read.

Some people have said that when it comes to the font but that's really the only character that uses that font. I may end up changing it though.

In my opinion it needs a thinner font and thinner word balloon outlines.

Moreso on the art than on the comics: try shading! It can be really simple, with just one more color. Just choose a light source and imagine the shape of the objects. If it is done well, it could look really nice.

Cool stuff.  I dig the style very much, it will be interesting to see where the style heads as you refine it more. My only suggestion is to lower the saturation on some of your colours, it'll add some depth and separation.  Yellows in particular are a bit hard on the eyes at the levels they're at, but only in the thrid strip as there's just so much of it.  Again, very nice stuff.

I see what you're saying with the yellow and shading is something I've been working on lately... Not always to the best but practice makes perfect.

Well, if it isn't Falconire! Thought the criticizem of the Penny Arcade forums was to intense? I don't blame you. Allthough some of them actually wanted to help you, yet here you are with the same strip. My criticizem? Everything that the nice ones on Penny Arcade said. You have the tip of the story, and your artwork is very original and could develop into an amazingly strange/interesting style. So just keep working on it and don't give up.
