Nintendo DS cover
« on: 19 Dec 2006, 05:16 »

I made a cover for a DS that I ended up giving to someone for their birthday. Everyone else seemed to like it so I think I may get into the habit of making them a lot. 8-bit things are easy to cross stitch.

Pretty cool. If someone gave me that for a present, I'd dig it.

Also, I have the same toothbrush as you, except mine's red instead of green.

I have the same one too, only mine is purple because purple is clearly the superior color.

I like the stiching on it alot though the material of the bag/cover itself could be something better...

Purple may be the superior color (and I'm not saying it is), but mine was given to me by my hygienist, who is totally hot, so the toothbrush itself is superior.

That is very cool! I think I will try and make a pouch something like that for my MP3 player. Technically your Mario is not cross-stitched; cross-stitch is where you plot uniform stitches in a grid and every two stiches makes a cross, hence the name. What you've done is (some awesome) free embroidery.

Hooray for Free Embroidery!! (Anything that's free must be good, right?)

And thank you, Bibliophile, for reviving this thread. I was afraid I'd killed it.

That is very cool! If i had a DS, I would want one of those. I, too, might make one for my MP3 player now.

yeah, i started out x-stitching it but i messed up something horrible because it was my first time, so i completely covered the stitches "free hand"... thanks for the compliment though :)

sonic > mario

Fuck yeah. Mario is pudgy and boring. Sonic is a tweaker, but fun to watch run around. And Knuckles is apparently Jamaican, so he just rocks.

Don't play his game Scarlette. He just wants gold rings and bling bling. You're just gonna be one more flickie ho to him.

Echidnas are native to Australia of course, but Knuckles has dreadlocks, or what I always figured were supposed to be reminiscent of dreads, which have a strong association with Jamaica.

The marsupial echidnas, I do realize, are a native Australian creature. However I don't think they wear shoes, or glide through the air... or are red... you get the point. Knuckles is Jamaican.

the important thing to remember is that the pipe seen on this cover is so freaking cool. i would love to see a ds cover that just looks like a big pipe.
