. . . Is that the same house and little girl the Violent Femmes used for the cover of their first album?

Absolutely it is, Inlander. The guys from Brand New decided to release this album back when they were kids so they stopped by the place the picture was being taken, told the girl "hang on a second, will you" and had a couple of their parents stand there with the masks on.

Get your facts right, Tommy. Jeez.

I've only listened to it a few times but for some reason couldn't really get into it. I liked their last album much more.

yeah, "Deja Entendu" was awesome, my favorite by them so far.  strange way they've changed their sound as they've put out new albums.  they started kinda pop punk-y on "Your Favorite Weapon", then "Deja Entendu" was more experimental with some hard rock, alternative, and punk mixed in with some melodic or ambient stuff.  plus acoustic songs.  "The Devil And God Are Raging Inside Me" is a lot more towards the ambient or melodic side, with some rock stuff in there.  it's pretty good, but even for me, it's the hardest album to get into they've put out yet.  :/

I should have known that Johnny C is the ultimate source of knowledge regarding photos of small children on the internet.

I prefer "guru."
