I'm looking around for some computer speakers. Surround-sound is not an option, so I'm mostly looking for either plain stereo systems, or possibly 2.1. I'm not too knowledgeable about speakers, so I figured I'd check here. This is the set I was thinking of, based largely on this review. As far as I can tell, this model seems to be essentially the same, with different aesthetics.

So, is this set worth getting? I'm willing to check out any other suggestions, and I'd be interested in any good two-speaker setups as well, in case the subwoofer isn't an option. Thanks.

When sound is really important to me, I generally go with bose... Though I usually have to save up for a few months to get them! I had these speakers before they were destroyed when I moved. They are among bose's cheepest, but they still had great sound.

I am sure there is something as good or better for less money, though. I bet the bose name alone costs alot of money now...

Several months ago I asked the same question on this forum and Jeph and some others recommended these:

anyway I bought them and I'm quite glad I did. For the quality they're very cheap and with headphones especially they sound great. I love my music loud and they definetly get loud and have pretty strong bass to boot if that's what you're into (I'm not). There is some feedback on very quiet (i.e. very ambient or accoustic) music if the volume is too high but other than that there's almost none. I really highly recommend these because you'll be hard pressed to find a system this good for the same price.
