Green Street Hooligans
« on: 30 Mar 2007, 19:10 »

Who's seen this?  Just saw it last night for the first time, and I'm convinced it'll be the next Boondock Saints (in America anyways).  What I mean by that is, me and my friends start talking about it, and 3 years later there will be screen-printed tees with quotes from the movie in Hot Topic.  Which is kinda what happened with Boondock Saints.  Thoughts?

I thought it was a tedious, faintly hilarious film, blatantly not made by anyone remotely British, which seemed to basically be trying to glorify one of the most pathetic and reprehensible forms of violence (organised football hooliganism) ever.

I also like how it glosses over the fact that in reality a lot of the 'firm' hooligans were vicious fucking racists.

BS isn't a hooligan movie, no.

And the reason I say it'll be like BS is because of the crazy violence and general badassery of half a dozen guys brawling against 40 other guys and walking away alive.  Or maybe I was just too stoned when I saw it.
