Grindhouse
Narr:
That was the whole point of Deathproof, I think. Think back to exploitation films of yesteryear. How often did they throw up 15 different plots only to degrade into mindless stunts with a silly, abrupt ending?
onewheelwizzard:
I just like the fact that Grindhouse has given us the best car chase ever filmed.
The movie is absolutely excellent, by the way. And apparently they're turning Machete into a movie itself.
M4:
It's such a shame it made so little money. Grindhouse was awesome in concept alone, when put up onto the big screen it was nothing short of brilliant. You could hear Tarantino and Rodriguez high-fiving each other and giggling like five year olds the entire film.
IMDB informs us that Machete is due out in 2008. I can't wait.
JCnNJ:
It was definitely a niche movie. I guess the niche was smaller than anticipated.
It probably didn't help that it opened on Easter weekend, when family fare tends to dominate the box office.
Narr:
Yeah, Machete is going to be a straight-to-DVD release. I *believe* they are going to do something similar with the Werewolf Women of the SS thing, too. I read a little on Wikipedia and rumors abound.
