Well, I also love artsy foreign films and artsy American films and all sorts of other movies, but I just love movies.  I think that Run Lola Run is fabulous and I love Like Water for Chocolate and all manner of other things, but I'm also crazy for Lone Wolf and Cub movies and Sam Peckinpah and fabulous schlock like GRINDHOUSE, which RULED by the way - did I mention that?  I think I did. ;)

JediBendu:
I think I said "This movie is fucking awesome" outloud about 5 times during Planet Terror. Also, the Thanksgiving trailer is one of the most entertaining things I have seen in a long time. However, Death Proof is average, at best. Even for Tarantino. It's quite laggy, but the finale is pretty much the shit.

I recommend Grindhouse quite highly.

Man it is that attitude which brought us Epic Movie.

I thought Death Proof was pretty rewarding if you like your movies both smart and fun.  It's definitely talky, but it grows on you.  I already saw it twice, and it held up very well on the second viewing; I think I actually appreciated it more, focusing on the dialogue instead of waiting for the "action" to happen.

I had a blast.  3 1/2 hours and I wanted more at the end.  I'd have stuck around for a triple feature if "Thanksgiving" or "Machete" was made into a feature.

Cartilage Head:
I have high hopes for Death Proof , but I am a little bit iffy about Planet Terror. I am extremely excited about seeing both films though!

Spike:
Robert Rodriguez has announced that he will be doing the Machete movie.  It'll probably go straight to DVD but still, AWESOME.

Planet Terror had the entire theatre going "What the hell?  Oh my GOD! HAHAHAHA"
