So I was just looking through my old Photobucket when this came up:

(pictar)

It was half-done by msPaint, half by kisekae tele. Man do I wish I could send this in somewhere and get an actual guitar sent back to me.

Goddamn Patrick, that is hot.

On an unrelated note, last night I had a dream where my dad barged in my room with a new Fender AVRI Jaguar, claiming he bought it for me from some idiot for a hundred bucks. I think my subconscious hates me.

Yeah but mine has the horns rounded off so it's kind of like a mini-335.

Regardless, that Johnny A model is pretty gorgeous.

Jesus I want one of those in a Bari.

But I already have a Dano.  And my next guitar purchase has to wait until after I finish my fixed gear bike and then make some money (probably by selling my drumset).  I want a pretty good, around $500 acoustic electric.  I'm thinking Alvarez right now.

Here's my new Steinberger Synapse XS-15FPA, I just got it about two months ago! It's the best bass I've ever played, and my first 5-string. I cannot brag on it enough, it's just perfect. Any bassist reading this, you have to play one of these ASAP, you will fall in love with it instantly. I was considering buying a Rickenbacker for it's classic rock sound, but the Steinberger won me over. The overall tone is amazing, with a lot of punch to it, and a sustain to die for. For those not aware, the Synapse line can use regular single-ball strings, as well as the double-ball strings. I realize I sound like a salesman at this point, but it's just that awesome.

I'm with Gaz. Thing looks like a fucked up sperm cell.

I played the guitar version of that thing once. Had a crappy time of it, because I couldn't figure out how to tune the thing (let alone get it into drop D). Then the lack of a headstock messed with my head. I am too lazy to get used to that configuration.

Actually, completely the opposite! It is the most balanced bass I've played. Most every other bass I've played is very neck heavy, especially my Thunderbird. If I were to let go of the Steinberger completely, it just stays in playing position. The strap hook is the secret, it makes sure the weight is evenly distributed across the guitar.

Check out these two videos, they might win some of you over

I have played many many different guitars, including a Steinberger and a Rickenbacker. The Rickenbacker I played was an old as balls cutaway that was my uncle's. It looked and sounded old as balls. But I guess if you want to play old as balls sounding music then it'd probably work out for you. I haven't played a more modern Rick, so I can't say how they play. (how do they play/sound btw)?

When I used to take guitar lessons my teacher would bring in his Steinberger Synapse sometimes. Some of y'all may think it don't look pretty, but it plays incredibly. They were designed to have minimal looks, and maximum playability. I think they designed them well. How many of you have played a Steinberger? Were you still turned off by them even though they play and sound like a dream? I couldn't give an antelope's left testicle about what a guitar looks like if I like how it plays and sounds.

Seriously, people need to stop thinking Buckethead's only song is Jordan.  If you haven't heard the amazing range of his abilities, listen to Colma and then Decoding the tomb of Bansheebot.

He's easily one of the most versatile guitarist/composer people i've heard (i haven't heard many, but yeah), even though he does have some really weird and experimental stuff.

Here's a few of my favourites:

Ghost Host

King James

And for contrast, Machete

My favourites are his more mellow acoustic/clean ones, or the ones that crescendo. Colma and Electric Tears are the albums I listen to most regularly.

ehhh, he's got mad chops/versatility, but his music is boring (see: Vai, Satriani [YOU KNOW IT TRUE]). Plus he haz a bukket on his head.

I'd rather listen to Jason Becker.

And while we're on the subject of 'virtuosos,' John5 is a pretty underrated guitarist. If you don't know about his solo albums, check them out.

Speaking of guitar and composers, I personally like Mozart, myself. I bet he'd shit himself if he ever heard me playing "Eine Kleine Nachtmusik" on my Jag like I decided to do last night.

Caparison are way above having a no-talent hack like him as an endorser ;)

It was designed by an Asian, though, so close enough!
