The New Pornographers - Challengers

While I'm very excited for 'Challengers' I'm sure I won't be listening to it a lot. For me, The New Pornographers are good in small doses. I often can't even get through a full album in one sitting. Not sure why, I just get a bit tired of their music after half an hour or so of straight listening. That being said, when I do listen to them in those short spurts I rather enjoy what I hear. In other words, I'm expecting to find this new album nice but nothing astonishing.

They are kind of like sugar, or candy, or some kind of sugar-honey-candy. Too much at a time can be dangerous. Still, I've found their albums have good staying power even after the initial binge ends. Also they are some of the few albums I actually like to put on shuffle.

I listened to Challengers a few times this weekend, so I deleted it off my computer so I don't burn out on it before it is actually released. But I really like it.

If I had a webcomic of my own, I would do a strip wherein the New Pornographers are launched into space to promote their new album, only the spaceship they're on blows up a few thousand feet in the air, thus fulfilling the curse of the titular space shuttle.
