I remember reading int he blog of one of the logic developers that apple was working on a new "protools killer" music editor which would make use of a touch screen interface.

So there may be something in the works from apple themselves.

I had a link in my blog of this guy's blog about modding his tablet pc to be a tablet mac. It included a video and everything.  It was pretty awesome. I wish I could find that link.

There's no reason Apple's next-generation iPod WOULDN'T be touch-sensitive. My only theories here relate to the Nano and the Shuffle, both of which will look extremely old if Apple decides to make a touch-based Pod, since the technology is not nearly advanced enough to fit inside a Nano profile.
