Is Centrino any good?
iliketodraw:
The lightness thing was referring to the MBP, but i guess i should have made that more clear. Why is it any harder than running pre-installed windows? once you get past the installation process (which is incredibly easy, even without apple's guide) and install the provided (updated) drivers everything works pretty much seamlessly.
SpacemanSpiff:
Oh yeah. The MBP is indeed one of the lightest (and best) notebooks around in the 15.4" class. The only issue I really have with the MBP is the price. Jesus H. Christ, it's expensive, especially if you want to run Windows legally and thus have to buy a license for it as well.
And I know many people who are put off by installing an OS, no matter how easy it is. If you're interested in computers and know a little bit about them, I suspect that installing Windows on a MBP shouldn't be an issue. But if you want a notebook that runs Windows from the start and you don't feel like/can't install it, the MBP won't fit the bill.

--- Quote from: tommydski on 07 Aug 2007, 05:17 ---My laptop was around that price. Seriously, these Hewlett Packard Pavilion Laptops are awesome. The one I have has so many great little features. Bluetooth remote, webcam, microphones, lightscribe DVD writer, lots of expansion ports. I would recommend this range of HP over anything else out there. Don't be scared of Vista, it's actually really great if you have the power to run it.
Mine is a DV6330eu, it was only £600 and £60 for an extra GB of RAM I bought afterwards. I could not be happier for the money I spent.

I would say listen to Tommy. My sister got one of these last year, and hers is still a really great laptop. If you are sure you don't want an Apple (what I would want, and what I think is probably tops in terms of notebooks at the moment), then the HP Pavillion is really one of the best choices.
