Peer-to-Peer File Sharing Programs
pilsner:
Having used µtorrent for about a year now, I can't think of a singular reason to use anything else. Does emule, etc have any particular advantages?
gubgubkolkol:
I like it because theres so many files, you can almost always find whatever you need. Its got kad network supported and its ed2k. Plus, EmulePlus is pretty easy to learn the ropes of.
Port forwarded, its quite good.

1.) FIND TORRENT PROGRAM
2.) GET .TORRENT FILE WITH LOTS OF SEEDS.
3.) MAKE SURE .TORRENT FILE HAS NO LEECHES
4.) START TORRENT
5.) OPTIONAL: CLICK "RANDOMIZE PORT" IF IT'S GOING SLOW. IF IT STILL GOES SLOW YOU SUCK EGGS AND PROBABLY SHOULDN'T BE ON THE INTERNET.

You don't really understand how Torrents or TCP/IP works do you?
First of all, a torrent doesn't have to have no leechers, just a low leecher to seeder ratio. You can still download pieces from a leecher who has already received pieces you don't have.
Second, the only reason that randomizing the port might make your download faster is if you happen to land on a port which has been previously forwarded. You need to open a port for the torrent program to communicate on in your firewall and router if you use a router. Randomizing is far from the optimal option.

Anybody care to comment about Poisoned for Mac? I have 10.3.9, can't find limewire for Panther plus i think limewire is not that good anyway. Somewhere someone told me poisoned is pretty good but i have my doubts.

I agree on Torrents being highly preferred over actual P2P programs.
I use Azureus for Torrents, and private tracker sites like Demonoid and TVTorrents. I absolutely adore TVTorrents because of the strict guidelines they have for people who post torrents. You don't get a bunch of garbage or text files or BS in the torrent, just the files you wanted, at the resolution/bitrate you wanted.
