« on: 19 Aug 2007, 23:59 »

Right, so I'm probably making a trip down to the record store tomorrow. Tell me what to get.

I actually have their lastest album downloaded. I do still want to buy the cd, but honestly, I think I'd rather have Cat Stevens.

Err, I just clicked the wrong thing because I didn't read closely enough to notice that Pavement was on there. I guess I shouldn't vote on anything important any time soon. BUY PAVEMENT!!! I love Pavement. Also, buy Say I am You by The Weepies. That is, if you like that sort of thing. I do.

Anything but Cat Stevens.

Cat Stevens is a wussy hippy, all peace trains and moon shadows and strained father-son relationships.

Get some Dylan instead.

I have tons of Dylan, and I love him and everything.

But I am also a big wussy hippy who loves Cat Stevens. I can't help it.

Pavement are a good band.

I would start at 'Crooked Rain' though. I got the first record and it didn't click for years.

I have Crooked Rain.

I pretty much have at least one albums, or the pieces of some albums by each artist listed. I was pretty much looking to expand my collection. I probably should have said that.

I think you should get Wowee Zowee. That was my first Pavement album. I loved it right away.

I don't even know what this is, but I'm gonna assume it has something to do with Metallica. I really dislike metallica.

You should tell me your name, because I feel odd calling you Betty. Anyway, I thought about buying that one. I've heard it a number of times, and I have a friend who is in love with it, so I'll probably end up buying that album, if I buy any Pavement.

Heh, yeah I figured I would get called Betty eventually. Wouldn't bother me, but it's not my name. My name is Jeanine. Like Juh-neen. And I get called Jeannie a lot(which sucks).

Anyway, Wowee Zowee is a pretty long album. I like long albums. They make me feel like I got something extra for free. Hope you enjoy it if you pick it up.

Alright....so I'm really bad at using laptops with touch-pad mouses (mice? does it count if it's in the body of the computer) and I voted for 'something completely different'. However! I am also a big wussy hippy...so count a vote for Cat Stevens. Go for some Nick Drake too, if you haven't already.

but the music sucks because the keyboards don't have the cold/mechanical sound they had but a wannabe techno sound that it's pathetic for Rammstein standars.

Crooked Rain exists in a fabulous reissue, with dozens of extra tracks (yeah, literally dozens).

Don't get this reissue if you haven't heard it first. Find the album unadorned and if you like it buy the expansive reissue. Same with the other reissued records.

I got Pavement's "Slanted..." last year after hearing all the hype (granted a little late).

Summer Babe is a nice song, Zurich is Stained is pretty good too, but to me it seems like they've got a couple of Velvet Underground songs and run them through a grungulator.

On the slightly off-topic of dissapointing albums, did anybody else get MBV's Loveless, adore it, then get Isn't Anything and find it almost unlistenably embarrassing?  I don't know, maybe it's a serious grower.

I hadn't decided, but there wasn't any Cat Stevens, or Justice to be had in the store. I ended up buying Pavement, Cursive(It was a cd I had lost), Belle and Sebastian, and The Smiths. The guy ringing me up was all excited about everything I was buying.
