Brazil Vs. 1984
NothingIncorporated:
I would add a vote thing, but I've suddenly become stupid and can't remember how, or if I can.
The question is which film (not book obviously) is better in your opinion, both tell stories of totalatarianism from the points of view of two civilians with 'dreams' and desires, but which one do you prefer?
For me, it will always and forever be Brazil, and should this thread blossom into a wonderful flower of conversation about the two films in question, I will bombard you all with pointless facts about the film Brazil.
NothingIncorporated:
Fact #1
- The film Brazil was completed and due for release in 1984, however the film '1984' came out that year, so they posponed the release of Brazil until 1985.
C Patrick Carolan:
GATTACA.
jimbunny:
Haven't seen this 1984 film you speak of, but I'm sure Brazil is better. As a film. If it was going up against the book...nope. It's good, really good, but it's not that good.
Gattaca is really good, too, though not as good as Brazil.
Sometimes, quality really can be quantified.
Johnny C:
There were two film versions of Nineteen Eighty-Four, one of which was released in the titular year.
And, bizarrely enough, soundtracked by Eurythmics.
