Driver's Licence Day!
Here is a comparison of my licence photos over the past few years.
I am sorry but the cards are holographic and scanning them makes funny things happen! This year's is actually pretty reasonable but looks funny in the scan. Hurr.

(Edit'd to add student cards as well. I am particularly fond of my TAFE card because it looks like I should be singing a mournful lead in one of those silly pop-goth bands.)

ps- in the first photo, I'm leaning on the the drum itself... the intent was to give an idea of how tall the thing was, but it's only just barely visible by my elbow. FAIL!

I recall the photo from my license in Rhode Island looking pretty okay, but now that I actually went into my photobucket to look it's just my standard bored expression:

after an unfortunate series of events involving a possible fraud charge the guelph police stole my student card and now my current one is dumb and boring and looks exactly like me. it's unfortunate because the old one was absolutely hilarious.
i did, however, manage to find my old graduation photo from high school which is almost as good if we're doing this whole past-present comparison theme.

can you believe i somehow was in a serious relationship with a boy for like two years looking like that? really amazing.

In year 10 I looked so wholesome (short hair). In Year 12 I was ill and looked like I was going to die. This is my 2nd uni ID, my other one was terrible, this one is boring. I love my 18+ card (I do not drive, I am scared). I look like some kind of jungle woman. I had been ill for like a year there and I felt like death!

Goddamn that year 12 picture of me is scary.

Also: I think it is a bit odd that you need to have your sex, eye colour, weight, what have you, on your licence. What purpose does it serve?

Licenses serve as full identification.

I'm so glad that they are using my permit picture on my license; we befriended the picture-taking lady and so while my first picture was bad, I asked for a reshoot and the second picture is really cute. I'll scan it tomorrow!

Nope, the new ND ones are vertical too if you're under 21 to make it easier to check IDs in bars, etc.

The first one I look kind of cute, only I was 17 and hadn't quite mastered eyeliner yet. I look slightly goth.
The second I had woke up at 2AM to work 3AM to 3PM at a big ol' greasy oily factory then went straight to orientation.

I looked really bad in my first license. I wish I still had it... I was 14 and I guess REALLY HAPPY.

You're under 21 right? I just traded my New York license for Illinois and it is horizontal. What brittany described is true of a lot of states, that the license is vertical if you are under 21.

Mine is vertical, and will be until I am 21 also. I have a scan of it at home somwheres, so I'll post it later.
