Hey guys,

Could you list some bands you know (any style) which have 2 guitars, 1 bass, 1 drum and keyboards?

I think he meant 'drum kit'.
Does it matter if they keyboard/second guitarist is just one guy who splits his duties?

Clutch
Dragonforce
The Devil Wears Prada
The Mean Reds
Children of Bodom

and millions more. that's a very common band setup. those are the first ones that came to mind, though.

The Dismemberment Plan, although I believe a bunch of their songs use two keyboards.

I think American Head Charge have this line-up, with a separate vocalist but possibly more than one keyboardist.

Yes, they can, but preferably none.

Thanks a million guys. I know it's a common setup, but I'm trying to find lots of different styles with this setup, and unfortunately, I don't know all the bands in the world (oh, how sweet that would be... and sucky, because I'd have listened to a million crap bands as well).

The first Q and not U album "No Kill No Beep Beep" had that line up except for synth instead of keyboards.  The guitarists switched between guitar and synth sometimes.  It's a pretty damn good album.  It's a definite ass shaking album.

The Anniversary?  The Get Up Kids?  I doubt this is what you're looking for.

I'm pretty sure that's the setup The Hellacopters use.  They're awesome.  So is Clutch.

You should check out Maserati.  I think they have that set up.  Their drummer is the shit.  He plays in lots of dancy bands (!!!, Turning Machine, LCD Soundsystem) but this is some crazy post rock.

If this is for band ideas, you could probably take the Mahavishnu Orchestra and turn the violin into a guitar part.

But it just wouldn't be quite the same.

This is pretty similar to the setup that Manfred Mann's Earth Band has, except rather than a second guitar the lead singer has a cowbell.
Back when Chris Thompson was the lead singer (their glory days?) that was exactly their setup.

And I think that modern They Might Be Giants has that setup, though as mentioned ^^ their early work, before all live musician type of stuff, was pretty dang cool too.

I know Yo La Tengo has a lot of keyboard stuff in their stuff, even if there's only one guitar. I'll definitely second the Dragonforce too.

Ted Leo and the Pharmacists (yeah, yeah, I know, I drop this name a lot) have two guitars in their lineup now in live shows... No keyboard though. Same goes for Sleater-Kinney, as far as I know. Pavement? Shit I don't know WHAT they got into with some of their studio stuff, but if you count Malkmus doing any track layering (that bastard does it all the time), then you'll definitely find a few things (think Range Life) with that lineup in a studio situation.

*sudden realization* Derek and the Dominoes (solo Clapton in some cases, for that matter), the Allman Brothers, and Lynyrd Skynyrd (pardon the third guitar in Skynyrd)! Especially the Allman Brothers. God I love those guys. I think the Eagles had that guit+guit+keys+drums+bass lineup and they pretty much ALL sang, if that works. Jimmy Buffett... shit, his lineup is always different no matter what, but he occasionally uses that lineup ("Grapefruit, Juicy Fruit").

Just about any country music will have the lineup you're looking for. I'm fairly sure that's the lineup Garth Brooks had when he did his famous world tour show at Madison Square Garden, 'cept with the occasional added harmonica and acoustic guitar on Garth's part. Joe Diffie and Billy Currington... I can never tell what they're doing, yo. If you count a steel guitar as a guitar, then yeah, go for those guys.

Also, Beatles. Beatles Beatles Beatles fucking Beatles. When they did studio work or had Billy Preston hanging around, they could have that lineup, definitely.

And don't forget, just about every contemporary Christian band EVER uses that lineup.

It's one of my favourite albums but I can't recall even a single note of synth.

I'm sorry, you're right.  They use keys on their later stuff.  "No Kill No Beep Beep" is still my favorite.
