Gigs you've been to and your thoughts.

Phaedra:
I saw Caribou this week past as well, and thought it was good, but not great. Perhaps because I've seen Snaith perform twice before and those two shows were both better in terms of sound, performance energy and visuals, but yeah. Also it was about 55 degrees C inside that venue, aargh.

That's kind of a pity. He seemed like such a great guy from the show (and on his records), I almost felt like he was my friend by the end of the evening.

I'm seeing SY perform Daydream Nation next month in a big leafy park  :-D :-D :-D

Ha!, so am I. Though probably not in a big leafy park. I actually don't know the venue at all.

The best show I was at in a long a time was The Fat Alberts. Mosh pit, teeeeny tiny little room, and a guy in a toga. The whole shebang.

I see you are from Perth! They're playing in "Beck's Music Box" on the Esplanade which I initially had confused with the Supreme Court Gardens where they also occasionally host gigs. The Esplanade is not quite so leafy, alas.

S'gonna be a fuckin' awesome venue for Explosions in the Sky though :-)

I'm seeing EitS in a few weeks myself! Can't wait. The other night I saw The National and they were great. Really good performers who put on an intense show. Abel and Mr November were the highlights, they went absolutely nuts. At the end they were handing out bottles of wine and just came across as really nice guys. Unfortunately my friend was feeling really sick and I had to get him out of there pretty early, so I missed most of the encore. Great show though.

Next Monday is Big Day Out, so I'll have a massive wrap after that, and on the Wednesday I'm seeing Spoon.
