Yeah, My Brightest Diamond are pretty rad. Haven't seen them yet, though.

I saw Spoon the other night. I enjoyed my self. I'm seeing Explosions in the sky in a couple of weeks- quite looking forward to it.

Jimmy the Squid:
I went to see Nightwish on friday night. It was actually a lot better than I thought it would be and much more crowded than I thought, though the crowd was more or less what I expected (a bunch of conventional pre-teen goths and emos) but there were a lot more morbidly obese bikers than I expected. The crowd was actually pretty good except for one drunk guy standing behind me who kept threatening to kill the band members if they didn't play his favourite songs but the bikers shut him up eventually.

The opening band was this awful power metal act called Lord. They used to be called Dungeon but they changed their name because of some line up changes. Unfortunately they were really terrible and I had to sit through a 40 minute set of "whoa whoas" and "meedly meees" that basically sounded like every other power metal band in the world. I could have walked away but I had a really good spot right at the front so it wasn't worth it.

Once Nightwish got on stage (after a further half hour of waiting between bands) the night improved significantly. They had a huge amount of energy and were obviously enjoying themselves. The new singer did a pretty great job of working up the crowd amd generally being a good frontwoman. All in all it was a really enjoyable performance and they played very well. They even did a fair amount of their older stuff which was interesting as the new singer is not particularly operatic but all in all I had a good time.

Tom:
Anette Olzon, is pretty hot, it is on that reason that I'll give them a listen even if it's only their first album with her.

sean:
I saw Beethoven's 5th piano concerto and 5th symphony tonight! It was rather enjoyable. The 5th symphony was extra excellent, since the conductor made a point of playing the 5th in it's original super fast tempo. Basically, it was asldkfjsadlk;jflasd.
