Gigs you've been to and your thoughts.

Yay! Thanks for the good news! I'm seeing Wolf Parade on Aug. 1 in New York and am now even more excited. Plus I get to see Wintersleep!! I saw Frog Eyes at my school earlier in the year and it was great so I'm expecting great things from this.
Shadows Collide:
Mark Kozelek last night at the East Brunswick Club = Phenomenal. It was just him on acoustic accompanied by a nice quiet guy called Phil, who I think is also in Sun Kil Moon. It was just the thing I needed yesterday, as I was really tired and worn down and needed some very personal, beautiful music like this to soothe me (seriously).
Importantly, he did "Summer Dress" and finished with "Katy's Song" - two of the best Red House Painters songs, and my personal favourites were "Tonight in Balbao", "Blue Orchids" and "Carry Me Ohio". Me and my friend were the only teenagers in the crowd which I guess makes sense.
TheFuriousWombat:
I saw Gregor Samsa with Olafur Arnalds the other night in New York at a cool new venue in the village called Le Poisson Rouge. It was a pretty awesome show. Olafur Arnalds played on piano with a string quartet. It was beautiful sorta chamber music with some glitchy electronics mixed in for good measure. Gregor Samsa played an awesome, albeit too short, set. They closed with my favorite song of their's though, so that made up for it.
