Can anyone recommend any good australian music that I might like?

The Lovetones are a great rock group from Austrailia. Borrowing elements of 60's psychedelia and 90's underground pop, they create a wonderful sound that sounds like a mix of solo-John Lennon and Matthew Sweet. You should check em out sometime, startin with their debut Be What You Want.

Oh.

OH.

OH SHIT.

It's going to take me a while to adjust to not being the only person around here who's heard of Vulgargrad. Are you in Melbourne?

EDIT: On reflection, that might sound kind of creepy. Sorry. It's just I've been trying to get people on this forum into Vulgargrad for ages now.

goodness...3rd post in a row...
vulgrargrad are incredible, no?! i must admit i've seen them about 8 times so far, though alot of them were around the east coast. i only moved to melbourne at the start of the year, i saw them play at the toff in town and also at the old bar, and if i remember correctly the empress in fitzroy which is (was?) a great venue! i'm so glad someone else has heard of them! mojo juju has supported them, also she played with martin martini at the evelyn last time i saw her in melbs. too good.
