Can anyone recommend any good australian music that I might like?

Jesus, if you saw them at the Old Bar I was probably at that gig too! I try to catch them whenever they play there, it's their natural home. In fact, I consider Vulgargrad at the Old Bar to be pretty much an essential Melbourne music experience.

Freaky.

for sure, they seem so comfortable there. i was actually at the great escape festival in sydney (set in an old armory) earlier this year doing some sideshow stuff and they played in the cabaret bunker- that was a terrific gig! so hot and sweaty, and was packed with festival goers and what i assume were costumed/masked members of a theatre troupe. i heard they got in trouble with security when they hassled the bartender but we shared bottles of tequila and vodka outside the equipment storage! good weekend. that singer just has the most amazing charisma (and that's as far from the miss universe sense of the term as possible). perhaps we should continue the conversation outside this particular topic? i'd prefer it if my face weren't 'chewed' by over-aggressive contributors...i've heard stories!

Inlander:
Yeah, it's reaching that stage! P.M. me if you like.

Also, you should introduce yourself in the "Hi, I'm New" sub-forum. I mean, you don't have to, but it's a good way to get the hang of this forum and make sure people know who you are. Folks around here are generally okay to new people, but like any forum we have our problems occasionally . . .

Everyone else: the moral of this story is LISTEN TO VULGARGRAD.

I already mentioned them in this thread, however I did not use all caps, so I guess it's ok.  :-D

Their new album kills.
