Now, when I bring this up in the sendspace thread, I'm the bad guy, now it has it's own thread!
Is it necessary to input the disc number when there's only one disc? How do you define the genre? Are Crap/Not Crap acceptable genres?
I downloaded No Pocky For Kitty and forgot about it a while, I was tagging my music and I noticed that the guy I'd downloaded it from had tagged the genre as 'NOT CRAP!'. This is hilarious to me!
Usually when I download something with the wrong tags, I'll just erase it and find somewhere else to get it. Unless I really really want it, then I burn it to disc and rip it with the correct info. Auto-Tagging software never works well for me. I always have album art added, I have various softwares that automatically do this for me when I add to my library, it works half the time. Bootlegs are often a hassle, as finding a suitable image of the band can be a nightmare.
Make sure your other media is properly tagged! Every TV show I have ever downloaded has been tagged as a movie with no information other than the name of the show. The same applies to movies and music videos.
But I get my music videos from Youtube so...
Anyway, TV shows are horrible to tag because I can't tag multiple TV shows are the same time.
ieatbrainz is supposed to be a good piece of software for tagging. Doesn't really work for me, but maybe you'll have better luck?
Tags are very important. If you think they're not, you're an asshole. A goddamn ASSHOLE. I apologise to the rest of you, but you, sir, are A FUCKING ASSHOLE!
Can we get a guide in here for proper tagging etiquette, what's appropriate, what isn't? What to do if for whatever reason, tagging isn't working?
