what is it with indie kids and album's (top songs of 2007)

<< < (3/6) > >>

onewheelwizzard:
Song of the year for me is "Terminally Charged" by Zoroaster.  It's probably the most successful fusion of the concepts of "catchy" and "doom sludge" I've ever heard.  Somehow neither is compromised.

Vancroth:
This sums it up nicely.

LCD Soundsystem- All My Friends- everything about this song is perfect. From its music to its lyrics to its delivery to its placement on the album, this is the song of 2007 for me.

I've also really enjoyed:
Battles - "Atlas" - The more I listen to it, the more everything just seems to fit.
Menomena - "Wet and Rusting" - A nice catchy, yet slightly experimental tune.

öde:
See Battles live. It is delicious.

IronOxide:
Did anyone say "I'm Not Gonna Teach Your Boyfriend How To Dance With You"?

If you didn't, that's not okay.

De_El:
Duuuuuude. I was just thinking that. Catchiest fucking song, I listen to Black Kids often.

Also super catchy, The Underdog - Spoon? But I don't know if I'd actually designate that as a top song.

God, North American Scum (Onanistic Dub) - LCD Soundsystem is pretty up there for me cus it just sort of crystallizes the awesome components of LCD.

Also, dunno what other peoples opinions on Deerhunter are, but Wash Off is a super song, it pretty much captures what they're all about with the pseudo-garage feel, driving bass and cascading guitars.
Also I have a terrible memory and can't offhand separate music that was released this year from everything else.
