Norwegian folk? It's quite nice..Unfortunately I haven't heard enough to recommend any bands/artists, but if you manage to find any..

....?!

They're good pop-punk, but they're not the best anything by any standards.

I definitely disagree, but like I said, punk's not really my thing. They're one of few punk bands that don't get on my nerves these days.

My old roommate was all about Scandinavian pop. Annie is from Norway, and she is extremely rad. Also, September had at least one song that was pretty good, but most of her music was just too much for me.

Also, Bjork. Her name is like a gentle zephyr caressing the surface of a still pond.

I'd like to recommend the artists of Hybris records (www.hybrism.com). They have a bunch of free tunes on their web page of Swedish artists like Elias & The Wizzkids, Montt Mardie, Vapnet etc, and unlike most record companies, they actively encourage people to spread their music on P2P networks.

You might check out JopLin out of Utrecht, Netherlands (not really scandinavian, I know, but close enough). They have a great bluesy/jazzy sound that is quiet enough to throw in the word folk. Their webpage is (or was) http://www.joplinmuziek.nl/. I am at school however and the internet is shoddy, so that might not work. I know (and I hate to say this) that they used to have a Myspace music account with a couple of pieces uploaded so you might check that out. Couldn't tell you what their page is though.

The best of the songs that I have are "Sigaretten en Sherry" and "Sterven met Spijt." Hope you understand dutch though.
