Ok, so I mentioned it in gabbly that I will most likely bring baked goods with me, probably 3 different kinds. 1 of these has to be brownies because someone mentioned Tommy has never had any, but I am up for suggestions on the other two. (There may be a surprise 4th addition to how much time I have before Tronno.) As I'm traveling by Greyhound, do not suggest things that will be easily smooshed. Basically, suggest cookies or stiffer things. Even if you want sugar cookies with a smorgasbord of icings, if that is the majority, I will probably make them and the icings. (Note: Do not suggest bacon chocolate chip, because I don't want to make them.) I guess this mostly applies to people in the hostel, but non-hostel people can have things too. And I have a cooler I can stick these in so they don't crumble, but to be on the safe side, I think brownies is as close to cake-like things as I'm willing to get.

Majority wins!

I haven't been to a hostel either, but even if it is decent, I'd rather bake them at home. Then I don't have to worry about not having enough pans, bowls, ingredients, etc. Besides, I'm doing this the day before I leave, so they'd still be fresh when I got there.

As a side note, I am totally bailing on this if I can get a job in the Torngats this summer. That's still pending me convincing the biology/geology people to hire an applied math major and convincing career services that they should give me credit for a job unrelated to my degree.

I was really actually hoping to make my way out there towards the end of the summer, more like August, but I will do what I can to get out there!
I guess said baking would be made available for offering to any forumites in the area (do we still have any of those?).

(also Constantines are playing here on the 30th and I think I'll probably be in town for such if you want an excuse to see what Waterloo on Wednesday is like)

the toronto jazz festival is also taking place from june 20th - 29th.

tickets are available on ticketmaster and you can buy them to see just certain performers. if you really like jazz this could be a thing for you.
