From the ticketmaster site; information on the "Gigantour"... tour...
"Megadeth, the pioneers of the American thrash metal movement, are taking their live show on the road. With over 20 million albums sold, their distinctive guitar solos coupled with Dave Mustaine's unique vocal style is a must-see for any heavy metal concert goer."
Note the first three words.
Now, I'm not a huge Megadeth fan, Im more of a Metallica fan, and no, I don't care about Mustaine getting kicked out of Metallica or any such, I just preferred the sound that Metallica had.
A pioneer? Sure. THE pioneer? No.
Anyway, it irritates me to see shit like this, especially considering the fact that Ticketmaster has sold me every Metallica and Slayer ticket Ive ever bought.
But whatever, Id be going for Children of Bodom, In Flames and High on Fire. Now to figure out if I want to see those bands over Ministry and Meshuggah, or drive the 3.5+ hours to see them in NYC.

Did you complain when ticketmaster sang the praises of Metallica and Slayer? I am sure they did, they need to sell the tickets, and what better way than making each and every band sound like the best one ever?
And overpriced? Is $45 overpriced for a ticket to see four bands? I honestly don't know, I have never been to any real shows, aside from one Beatles cover band show when I was nine.
De_El:
Ticketmaster is dumb because they charge ridiculous amounts of money for convenience. For serious, I once went to buy a ticket for a National show on ticketmaster, and when I got to checkout they wanted to charge me $15. The ticket itself was $15. For that, I went to the Vic's box office.

Wait, how is this in any way inaccurate.

If they said that either band was THE pioneer of thrash in this country, I would be just as annoyed.
Actually I tend to never read the site, I was only bothering to read it this time because there will be different supporting acts depending on location, so I was trying to confirm who would be where on the dates near me. Otherwise I could care less what idiotic crap they put up (and was justified in my indifference by the info about Megadeth)
And with service charges itll be at least $50 if not more. For a headliner I'm "meh" about. And if I go to the New York show... thats a little over a tank of gas to get there and back. Another 30 or so dollars.
And yes, its expensive (to me) even more so when the majority of shows Ive gone to in Baltimore over the past six or so months have been free (kinda). Its just kicking my ass more now that everything I want to go to over the next two months is either in DC or Philly (and thereby not free).
McTaggart:
Why be annoyed. People have to market their shows. If people start putting "one of the metal bands from wherever, honestly not as good as this other band but do a similar thing" on their posters and their show descriptions they're going to get fired.
