If you're old enough to use the internets you are old are enough to use Amazon! Surely someone you know has a credit/debit card and would be willing to place an order for you, provided you pay for it up-front.

You also claim to buy a lot from local shops. I don't know exactly how your local record shop works,  but every one I've set foot in (quite a few) has been able to special-order anything you want that they don't have, and usually they only charge a minimal fee, if any, for you doing this.

Liz:
Also Amazon now has a feature that lets you buy using your bank account, which is why I've joined the world of online shopping.

I smell a sitcom!

Actually from what I've heard I like Mr. Beast more, too.  I could probably listen to Young Team ad nauseum until I'm convinced of its superiority and/or do whatever it is Focus on the Family thinks is gay-ifying America's children to myself if it would sell a pilot, though.

--- Quote from: pinkpiche on 18 Jan 2008, 01:56 ---I know a lot of you prefers most popular indie-bands' older work to their newer (Modest Mouse, Arcade Fire, Black Heart Procession and I could go on).

Dude, you're a fucking idiot.  Just sayin'.

I don't prefer bands' music based on when it was made, I enjoy it based on how much I enjoy it.  I think Neon Bible is a hell of a lot better than Funeral.  I haven't liked Modest Mouse since 1998 and even back then I tolerated them at best so that's a stupid point.  The latest Black Heart Procession album just plain isn't quite as good as their first four.  And since when are they "popular" anyway?

Coming in here and posting big sweeping statements about "you guys" is a quick way to get you laughed at and your idiotic statements sigged so they are never forgotten.

Just sayin'? Yeah I guess you are "just" saying.

You know as well as me that there is a big tendency for people to like earlier material of any band in "the indie-scene". Both Modest Mouse and Arcade Fire are condidered sell-outs by a lot of people, just because they aren't throwing out anthems like "Paper Thin Walls" or "Laika" any longer. The whole "the more obscure it is, the better it is"-thing. It wasn't exactly directed at you. But I guess you speak for the whole board.

adara>> Yeah I tried that but it would take them four weeks and cost me double price so I guess I wasn't that wild to listen to something I had never heard before and only a weak impression of. But that isn't really what this is about, is it? I'm not that wild about the Lips anyway.

Jackie Blue:
Actually, I don't know anything about "the indie scene" because I'm not in it.

And I wasn't speaking for the whole board, but I've been here long enough to know that this isn't a board made up of generic "indie scene" clichés who always say "They were so much better before they sold out."

Seriously.  Lurk more.
