Regarding humor

Rape isn't something I find funny on general principles. I'm contrarian enough of a person though that this thread genuinely makes me want a thread devoted to rape jokes, just to see if we could find one I do think is funny. After all, I enjoy dead baby jokes and I think George Carlin's bit on suicide (from his Life is Worth Losing special) is comedy gold, so perhaps rape could be potentially be funny as well. I have trouble understanding why this ONE area should be off limits to humor, no matter how offensive it is (and I agree that it is incredibly offensive).
Barring that, a new joke thread that didn't contain rape jokes might also be nice, since it's been three and a half months since the last post in the last joke thread I could find via search, and significantly longer than that since the last joke thread not dedicated specifically to BAD jokes...

Also, Patrick, you probably know my opinion of religion (it's negative. Very negative.) but seriously, the bible is pretty much where so many of our little sayings, phrases, axioms or idioms or whatever you want to call them are from. Emaline wasn't really doing anything wrong by quoting the bible. If she was being incredibly sanctimonious or preachy than I'd be all up in arms about it as well but you know, just chill a little.

This is exactly what I'm saying.
I also want to add that I am not trying to saying any one person here is an ass. I'm not trying to offend you, Patrick, or be a jerk to you or whatever. Honestly. I've got nothing against you, and I generally enjoy your posts.

guys, anything can be funny if its in the right context. ive made jokes about things that even would offend myself, but it works if its done right.

I agree.
Dead baby jokes usually absolutely make me cringe, and my stomach churn. However, I know I've told a few, and have laughed at some as well.
