I've noticed a lot of very strange suggestions in this thread, which leads me to assume that people ignored the examples set by the original post. To break this trend, I'm suggesting Ten Grand.
There were a post hardcore outfit that sadly dissolved in 2003 after the death of Matt Davis, the frontman of the group. The man's voice was epic, crazy, intense. At times, he sounded like his throat was about to burst from the output. Originally known as The VidaBlue, they were made to sell the name to a Phish side project for a sum of money, which hopefully, amounted to at least ten grand.
They put out two flawless albums while they were known as Ten Grand, "The Comprehensive List Of Anyone Who Has Ever Done Anything Wrong To Us" and "This Is The Way To Rule", as well as 5000 different splits, EPs and singles that are more or less impossible to track down.
You might not have heard of him, but the death of Matt Davis was definitely one of the more tragic ones I care to name when it comes to musicians taken in their prime.
It would seem that nobody in the youtube community saw fit to take a recording of this band when they were around, good luck tracking down some material.
