In The Aeroplane Over The Sea
gardenhead_:
So, today is the 10th anniversary of In The Aeroplane Over The Sea, and I realised that for what a hugely influential album it seems to be there are hardly any artists that I know of that take a lot of influence from NMH. The only artist I know of is Viking Moses, which doesn't even sound a whole lot like NMH.
So, would anyone be able to recommend some NMH-like artists?
Also discuss the amazing greatness that is In The Aeroplane Over The Sea and Neutral Milk Hotel in general!
KharBevNor:
Neutral Milk Hotel? MOER LIEK DOUCHE-TRAL SILK MOTEL AMIRITE?
gardenhead_:
totally

Khar is just loathe to admit that he likes this album apparently.
Anyhow, you really should check out Beirut. Especially the first album. Zach Condon, the main man behind Beirut, had a member are two of Jeff Mangum's backing musicians from Neutral Milk Hotel record on the first album with him.
gardenhead_:
Oh damn, I totally forgot about Beirut. Thanks for reminding me! Gulag Orkestar is an awesome album.
