For people in the Philadelphia area, mainly

With luck I'm not the only person from the Philly area in the entire music forum.  If so, then whoever else is within reasonable distance of this event should go to it.

Jeeze man, what kind of house do you live in? You've had Om play there too haven't you?
I do live in the Philadelphia area. I live in Bucks County outside of Philly, about an hour away, and I would come depending on your location.
More details please?

Wow, shit, I totally forgot the actual address!

It's at 3914 Spruce St, in University City just west of the Schyukill River.  I live on UPenn's campus, in the Pi Lambda Phi fraternity house, which has a long and notorious history of throwing rogue rock shows and various other mischief, and generally being a haven for weirdos and excess in all forms.

And if Om played my house I would cry tears of joy.  I think the other band who I recently mentioned playing the house was Clockcleaner (who, by the way, live up to a good portion of their reputation for being total assholes ... or at least Sharkey does).  In past years we've also hosted Q And Not U, Nada Surf, Stinking Lizaveta, Burning Brides, The Bevis Frond, Bardo Pond, The Low Budgets, even Wesley Willis if I remember correctly.

Anyway, you should come.  It's going to be awesome.  Hint: bring an opaque container for tasty amber and brown liquids.  I had a keg of Newcastle in my room last year and I'm accepting recommendations for this year's libations.  The opaque container is for shade purposes, to evade The Man.

Knowing my luck, I'll be having to do some kind of outside work with my project management class.  Will do what I can, though.  (I live an hour and a half south).

This is over my Spring Break, during which I am doing very little, and I live less than an hour from Philly. I might very well stop by since this sounds rather excellent.

Entry to Human BBQ is as easy as having 12 dollars at the door.  You may bring as many friends as you please.

Om were so awesome that I'm pretty sure that if you asked them to they'd definitely play your house.

Not anymore.  Chris Hiakus left the band last I heard.

Also, Caspian, that was long before my time.  The last time Bardo Pond played here was ... 8 years ago, to my knowledge.  I might be wrong.

Although it was only the beginning of this school year that we had Daft Punk's opening DJs (The Bang Gang) play our basement.  We're moving up in the world!

Hey guys, bumping the thread because BBQ is happening next weekend!

There will be zombies.  But they will not be there to eat brains.  They will be there to party.

I am really, seriously, not joking.  Here are some pictures to prove it.

If you don't play the monster mash, I will seriously scandalized.

I'm pretty sure the zombies will be an unexpected (terrifying?) bonus from the standpoint of everyone but me and the friends who I've alerted to their impending arrival.  If one of the bands somehow picks up on things and covers the Monster Mash, everything will be right in the world.

Man, I really wanna go to this, I just don't know what my homework situation's gonna be, and if I can find a place to sleep...

Fuck it, if I'm going at all, I'm just not gonna stay the entirety of the party.

You'll be given some sort of proof of payment when you enter for the first time.  It'll probably just be a little symbol drawn on the back of your hand with Sharpie, but yeah, you'll be able to get back in if you have to leave in the middle.
