negative creep:
Last time we played a gig, at the end, after about 5 minutes of screwing around with my delay pedal (you know, "feedback" to max and delay time almost at 0, then manipulate the delay time), i just took my guitar, held it above my head and turned around to my amp, standing like that for about 2 minutes. It was awsome!
To bad we didn't record it. Here's an old live recording:   http://www.myspace.com/freudeundideen  not as much feedback as usual, though.

Ah, the ringing bell method. I do love that one.

Once - and this is another 'wish I recorded it' moment - I set everything on my amp to full, and found a preset on this old FX pedal that had a panning effect and left my guitar feeding back. This meant I had a kind of walking feedback in rhythm. I went to the other room, found the feedback's note on my organ, and set the organ playing itself as well. And then I stood and played acoustic guitar in the doorway between the two rooms. I did this for about half an hour. It was fucking epic and I really wish I'd recorded it.

That is exactly why I want to get a flanger pedal.

I really like being able to control the pitch of my feedback with my Vox wah when I crank the gain on my amp, stick the guitar in front, and have it running directly from guitar-wah-input instead of going through the effects loop. When you have wah engaged, you can fuck with the pedal and control the pitch (even if it's a bit erratic and really touchy).

Really fun for doing Morello-style screechy shit, but it definitely is nowhere near the same as just plain getting a whammy pedal. Which I want so bad oh my godddddddddderguisehuirgnsejirgim
