Actually, I think Sega of America's games have been pretty good lately, with the Total War series, Obsidian's upcoming output, and the Aliens stuff. It's just their Japanese arm that seems to be completely fucking out of their minds.

Isn't it more safe to assume that they'd be fooling themselves? When you've made terrible, terrible 3-D sonic games that have made fans incredibly angry you need to reevaluate your situation. If they took a step back and said "alright, let's freaking rework this so that Sonic doesn't suck." instead of "ok, let's take everything that was wrong with the last sonic and change it." If they made a relatively 2-D game for the Wii first, or like 2.5-D with a few options it would be much better. You take it completely back to basics. Sonic and Tails, maybe throw in Knuckles too...so the fans won't be too angry. Just rework and update the basics, which is I think what they MIGHT be sort of doing with this one. Sonic needs less stuff right now...not more....no Werewolf.

Anyway, Sonic Rush seems to have worked. I have not gotten a proper chance to play it but it does overall impress me, except it's maybe just a bit too fast and not always very deep (just hold right).
Since this game is based on that general engine I have quite a bit of hope, though.
And I enjoyed Sonic Heroes. Fuck, I'm going to play some of it right now!
Oh -- one last thing: that one shot could still be a hoax. We haven't seen anything else with the were-Sonic in shots or videos, the site the image is from -- the only place it has been seen/leaked -- has gotten things wrong, and April Fools' Day is right around the corner.
