Elephant Shell
« on: 29 Mar 2008, 21:45 »

Any other Tokyo Police Club fans around here? Their new album is set to release on April 22nd and I can only hope it will be as amazing as A Lesson in Crime.
I'm not sure how well they're known outside of Canada (hell, I don't even know how well known they are in Canada), but I would strongly recommend checking them out if you enjoy indie music.

My friend really likes them for some reason, but every time I try to listen to them I end up turning it off after one song.

Is this a problem? Am I missing out?

Well if you don't like it then you don't like it. It's your opinion, we can't change it for you. Personally I find their light, upbeat style to be somewhat refreshing, no matter how bad I feel listening to Tokyo Police Club nearly always cheers me up.

I'm pretty sure Elephant Shell is on the Mediafire Thread. Otherwise I'm not real sure how it got on my computer, but it's flippin' great.

It is there but I downloaded it the day leaked, aren't I cool. It is fantastic and a cut above the rest of the pop-punk/punk-pop out there. there sound is much more diverse and even when Monks more or less speaks the lyrics the urgency and intensity evident in A Lesson In Crime. They still feel like an abandoned colonial manor house on a an early spring morning.

Seriously.

PS: OMG I LUV TCP SO FUKKEN MUCH DEY IS TEH FUKKEN SHIT YEAH!!!

Seriously.

every now and again I feel that if I don't stop myself, I'll type 'Tokyo Police Club - Elephant Shell' into Youtorrent. Trying to restrain myself so I'll actually buy a physical copy to accompany my copy of 'A Lesson About Crime' when it comes out later this month. My friend who cares less about such things informs me that it's a decent album. So I pretty much can't wait.

Tokyo Police Club is ok, I've yet to hear a song by them that really Grabs me, but I hope to find something in this new album.

But here's a question:
Why does almost every Indie rock band that gets good reviews make a song with Elephants in the Title?

Ok,
Beirut - Elephant Gun
(There's White stripe's Elephant album, but there not Indie rock)
...

Ok well I guess I was wrong, but many of them do have animals of some kind in song titles

Also not really falling into the "indie" gathering, but to finish off a trio, Clutch's The Elephant Riders.

Anyway..just downloaded the album. Enjoying it so far.
