I remember way back when we first started dating, when my now-fiancee asked me if it's okay to refer to me as her boyfriend. That confused me.
Social Bacon:
Please take your philosophical nonsense about the prudence of society and its relation to an internet message board elsewhere. This is the thread for being shallow and discussing bewbs. Kthxbai.

--- End quote ---
The difference is in how serious the relationship is. To me, a boyfriend or girlfriend is someone you would invite to family holidays or a relative's wedding. I think it's okay to be in a more casual relationship, some people don't. It all depends on what you are comfortable with at a certain point in your life. I have more fun when I'm not committed, not because I want to sleep around or anything (I don't), but because a significant other is a time-consuming responsibility that I don't feel the need to take on just because I enjoy makeouts on occasion. Its an arrangement that works for me, but if it doesn't sound like a good one to you, well, I can respect that.
Errr. Back to fun, silly, chest related things.
Last night at this party a girl and guy were comparing boob sizes. I thought it was pretty funny, and the guy was using his arms to give himself cleavage. Thankfully he wasn't that hairy or it would have been a little disturbing.

Gah, I can't stand people who insist on ignoring the difference between "guy I'm seeing" and "boyfriend." I had this silly friend who went on a date with a guy just because she would have felt bad turning him down because he seemed so desperate, and next thing you know, he was calling her his girlfriend behind her back. "Oh yeah my g/f RiRi shore is hot, isn't she."
Maybe it's just because I don't like him though, and he's the only person thus far that I've seen make this faux pas.
Narr:
Defining relationships doesn't make any sense to me.
You're either dating or not. It gets serious when it gets serious. The only difference? You can tell people "It's getting serious."
Trying to define relationship stages is unnecessarily awkward. I'm no good at it. I usually leave it up to the girl when I'm allowed to call her "my girlfriend" because you can get in trouble if you do it too early.
