I just listened to Jason Collett's cover of Stars' "Reunion." I am firmly in the Jason Collett camp.

I voted Brendan. Purely because when I saw them last December, the songs they played off his upcoming record were incredible, and he was friendly and funny. I was torn a lot of ways though.

See, I had the opportunity to see Collett about four times at the Winnipeg Folk Festival last year, and he has not only a great ear for rootsy tunes but he is also a very wry, amiable gentleman. He was the highlight of most of the sessions he played.

Obviously Ohad. Besides being a bad-ass musician, being in Do Make Say Think (!!), and contributing to albums by The Hidden Cameras and Feist, he also has a cool name. He's pretty much unstoppable. Oh, and he's a really nice guy based upon short conversations with him after shows.

Is it just me or are Emily/Leslie (well maybe she's alright) /the third girl NOT all that good looking? It reminds of the old idea of "ugly guys join bands to get laid". The BSS girls are proof that that idea also applies to girls.

I voted Emily, although my criteria are admittedly bogus. I've never actually heard any music produced by any of the members except that Feist song on the ipod commercials, which I find rather annoying. Therefore Emily wins, as she is both attractive and didn't write that ipod song.

I never thought so either. I wouldn't claim that she's un-attractive, but she always looked plain to me. And not that secretly-hot kinda plain, just, yeah she's a regular lady who makes music. If I were voting with my penis, I'd say Emily Haines is the best member of BSS. She's got that angular young-Winona Ryder thing going on.

Even the most intelligent women I know make a big deal about how hot guys like Thurston Moore are so I don't see why the reverse is a big deal.

That said I am having a hard time thinking of a female musician I like that I find actively unattractive, which seems weird.

There are female musicians that I think are attractive; there are female musicians that I think are talented. I don't think there's a correlation between the two, and frankly, I don't think discussing the former subject is that interesting. It either amounts to "I agree that person X is hot" or "I disagree that person X is hot."

You have not heard Feist or Emily Haines sing, have you. That is the biggest reason I think they're sexy. The fact that they're both actually physically attractive is just the icing on the cake made out of pure sex.
