Wii fit?

Melodic:
That was actually a beautiful post. Holy shit. I was going to say something snarky but... wow.

Fluxuation:
has anyone actually lost any weight? I'm a slightyly overweight guy and I was interested in wii fit but I dont know if it actually even works. so what results have you seen? any weight loss?

0bsessions:
Okay, I'm going to burst a couple peoples' perception bubble here:

Wii Fit is not designed to make you lose weight per se. It is designed to make exercise a little bit more fun in a hope that you might get in better shape. Do not buy it if your prime hope is to lose weight, because it's not going to do it for you.

It's basically the same as any other exercise: a means to more efficiently exercise.

I've actually lost 3.3 lbs, surprisingly. But...

This.

Don't expect to miraculously lose weight after buying wii fit. I've been working out for at least a hour everyday since buying it, plus watching what I eat. On top of that, I've always walked to work, and I'm looking into buying a bike to ride whenever I am not a work. So yeah. Wii fit is basically just a means to time my working out, and weight myself, as well teach me some yoga moves that I am otherwise to lazy too seek out.

But it's fun. I really enjoy it, and I'm glad I bought it. Without it, I doubt I would have convinced myself to exercise as much as I do.

Storm Rider:
I think Wii Fit is a cool idea that fits in perfectly with the general mission of the Wii, and I think 'hardcore' gamers bitching and moaning about it and how it's 'killing' gaming are fucking babies that need to get over themselves. There's absolutely no reason that traditional games and casual games can't occupy the same marketplace, or that enjoying one immediately excludes enjoying the other. That being said, I'm not particularly interested in Wii Fit specifically, and I find the 90 dollar price tag too high for a 'what the hell' sort of purchase. Still, I think it's great that Nintendo is still pushing the boundaries of gaming, so I approve of the product even if I won't necessarily purchase it myself.
