Okay, So I'm looking at stuff that will be happening in various places across the West Coast while I'm there and just saw that Okkervil River is playing with the Decembrists in Portland, and the first day that I get there the Warped Tour is there. Do I go?

YOU FUCKING GO TO THAT SHIT IF YOU HAVE TO SELL BOTH KIDNEYS TO GET THERE

Okkervil River were really awesome when they played here with Titus Andronicus (who were also really, really awesome). Go see that shit!

Yeah the main issue is that that is pushing the amount of time I will be in Portland. I am flying out of Vancouver on the 1st and would like to see both Seattle and Vancouver a bit.

I saw the Town Pants! They are one of my favourite bands, and they ended up camping right next to my tent, so I spent the whole festival RIGHT NEXT TO THEM.

Portishead was completely amazing. Bye Radiohead, you were on that 1st place for a long time, but you're still in the top three.

we are going to see Okkervil River. It will be amazing.

pinkpiche - look up Artemis (downtempo band). I'm listening to them currently, and they remind me of Portishead a lot. So do Lamb.

Saw Dallas Green do a little solo set at a place in Brooklyn tonight.  There was MAYBE 60 other people there.  He only played 7 or 8 songs but I can't complain, it was free after all.

Explosions in the Sky rocked the fucking house last night. And by house I mean park. And by __ I mean I may have eaten some very delicious brownies before they started. Best decision ever.

I'm pretty psyched for Blind Pilot come November, they're playing in a small club in Boston. Only $20 bucks for a ticket.

Well, I totally dismissed Reading Festival this year because the line up was very meh.

But right now on BBC3, Muse are absolutely killing it. And I thought I was burned out on them, but damn they are a brilliant live band.

Although the only good acts for me at Reading this year was Bombay Bicycle Club, Two Door Cinema Club, Jane's Addiction...probably would've seen SeaSick Steve and Warpaint too (and looking closely, maybe Off! too?)

But 6 bands is not worth £200, or my time.

And, in a typically British way, there won't be enough portaloos to cater for both the Olympic Games and Glastonbury Festival next year. So looks like I'm going to Sonisphere or something.

OK, folks, yes or no, should I go to the upcoming Panic at the Disco show and illicitly film it? I'm trying to do a handful of national acts to add to my youtube page to attract attention, and I know of them, but not much else. (The venue is actually very casual about photo/video unless the act specifically requests otherwise)

A couple of fun bands from my neck of the woods are going on a nationwide tour in the spring.
http://www.facebook.com/#!/event.php?eid=236045429777554

Musical Charis, and ZuhG. Both are high-energy, determined-to-get-you-moving acts that lay it all out there every show. They're also all fantastic musicians who work their asses off to make music their lives as close to 24/7 as possible, so if they come close to where you live, definitely worth checking out.

Some samples: Musical Charis. ZuhG.

Lots of time to plan!

Edit: Just filmed and uploaded an entire set by ZuhG as they performed at the local music awards show, where they won awards for outstanding release, and outstanding reggae/roots act. Musical Charis joins them to perform one of their songs at around 21:30.

Oh man this week is ridiculous.

Last night I saw Copy Haho.

Three Blind Wolves are playing two nights and they have special guests, one of them might be Frightened Rabbit.

Rob St. John is playing with Meursault for his album launch.

Meursault and Withered Hand are opening for the Sigur Ros movie showing.

Jeffrey Lewis on Wednesday.

Dananananakroyd on Saturday.

For a moment I thought you were talking about Soundwave Revolution festival in Australlia, that got cancelled supposedly due to Van Halen still not having an album ready for public display - they were the main headliner and I think they pulled out.

But Soundwave looks good - apart from I don't understand how Steel Panther is still a thing

My friends in Of Monsters and Men are playing three shows in canada in the next few days, they recently signed to Universal and were called the new Arcade Fire by Rolling Stone.
If you  live in Toronto or Montreal you should go see them.

Nov 13 - El Mocambo - Toronto
Nov 15 - Quai des Brumes - Montreal
Nov 17 - M for Montreal Casa Del Popolo
