Not uncommon as I bought it from Wal-Mart.

Though a funny moment as I wore it to Anime Weekend Atlanta one time (I know, the geekery doesn't stop) and somebody commented on the accuracy of the runes on the sleeves and hat. I guess someone who designs costumes actually did their homework.

You'd be surprised at how much pride we have in our work, even if we are just making burlap sack dresses or horribly cheap costumes for wal-mart. I had an idea for a Midna costume for Dragon*Con this year, except that I ran out of money and couldn't finish it, so I have been taking the opportunity to get the design on the inside of her cloak right, and even though I have worked on it for a few weeks now it still ain't right. We aren't even going to talk about what the back will look like, or how long that will take to do via resist dyeing (no fabric paint for me motherfuckers I do shit the hard way).

Anyway, my point is that we seem to have a bit of misplaced stubbornness.

Actually, I wasn't doing Novembeard. I have had a poorly cared for goatee for years. T'was time for it to go.
Also, I'm not a real blacksmith per se, like I don't do it as a job. It's just a technique I use as a student sculptor. and yeah, I don't like my hair like that either. It's not messy enough. Also, thank ye, Liz.

I'm the brunette and the drunk looking blonde is one of my friends. I just got my hair cut the other day and now have a fringe, but that's pinned back because I haven't got used to it yet and it annoys the hell out of me!

The hair is a bit shorter now. It's amazing how if you ask a hairdresser not to lose too much length they cut nearly a handspan off.

Oh you silly people with your ridiculous attachment to your long hair. I am debating whether or not to cut mine from butt-length to shoulder length, just for something new. And hey! I can bet I will probably not cry when they do it, too! Crazy!

It is longer than that, now. That was about a month after my last haircut, back in April.

I am only debating, you see, because if I cut it too short I will end up with a fro, or a lion's mane. So it might end up staying long.

For some reason I always kinda wanted long hair but since I swam in high school and college I shaved my head.

And then when my hair was long it was all crappy because of the chlorine.

Now I work as a professional so I keep my hair short because it's a pain to keep it neat.

i think girls get pissed off when a hunk of hair gets cut off more because it's a control issue rather than because of attachment to hair length. most people can't cut their own hair so you're forced to trust the job to someone else (who you're paying) and when they don't do what you ask it really sucks.

my hair isn't even long but there was a period of time in which i would go to the hair dresser and ask for "a tiny trim because i am trying to grow my hair out but i want to fix up the awkward stages" but they would keep chopping my hair off again. i would nearly cry out of anger and frustration because i'd just wasted my money and i couldn't even do anything about it.

Mwuh, everyone's hair acts differently, people should try and go to someone who is A) good and B) they have been seeing for a long time! When you cut certain lengths off hair depending on the hair type it'll look shorter. Like, for example, my mother is a stylist and when she cuts two inches off my hair, it looks like three because I have wavy, but my sister it would look like five, because her hair is curly. It all depends on the 'weight' in your hair. When you go to the same hairdresser they will learn your hair and you won't get so many bad cuts. All hair acts differently, in reality the first time you're with a hairdresser, they are completely guessing how it'll react. For example, when my hair was down to my hips, it was poker straight, then I cut it to chest length and all of a sudden I had this really wavy.. mane thing. Neither me nor my mother(also my hairdresser) expected this because my hair had always been straight, thank god it turned out well otherwise I would have been upset

(ps I am not saying you should not get upset if you get a bad hair cut! That is okay! Just try and be understanding ; ; )
