Wah Pedal

so,i havent been on in awhile, about a month or so. but i wanna get a wah pedal, not sure which brand would work best with a big muff. plus, i wanna know what brand of wah j mascis used. help?

Probably a Dunlop.  That's just a guess, though.  The Weeping Demon seems to be the most popular

thanks man, i've been reading into it, but i'm torn between the vox and dunlop. I'm just listening to people play them until i can go out to the guitar shop and try some.

Yeah, I've seen Vox wahs used pretty frequently, also.  I'm not a huge fan of wahs myself, but I might pick one up someday.

my friend had a vox wah, he didnt like it, but then again he plays metal, and personally im not one for metal. they're quite fun to play around with.

My brother runs (on his bass) a big muff into a crybaby bass, and it sounds pretty cool. But it's a bass, so I don't know what would be best for you.

I don't like dimebag. And I'm not the best with working on pedals. So not sure how to adjust the range. A short range would be nice by the way.

Oh, I didn't mean a dimebag crybaby, I wouldn't buy that. Just a regular one. To adjust the range you've usually got to open up the pedal and adjust the pots, but if you don't want a large range then you should be fine with stock.

From what people say the standard cheapest Crybaby is pretty much not very good. I think the Vox is better for a stock wah, I hear the Crybaby with knobs that adjust the range and stuff is good too.

This is just me, but I'd recommend saving your money and using it for something a bit more useful and/or versatile. Wah pedals sound great for funk and the occasional classic rock solo, and... well, that's about it.

If I'm going to actually give the kind of advice you're looking for, I've got a Vox wah that I like pretty well. It may not be the most useful effect I've got, but it does that one trick very well.

It is as cool as it is frustrating (at least, to a fellow with no money to spend on effects and new amps).

I suspect that the day I can resist assembling fantasy rigs is the day my chops will start to get really good.

I already own a ProCo TurboRAT Distortion/Overdrive, but I'm looking at getting a Danelectro Daddy-O overdrive, too.  It's cheap and it sounds hella good I guess.  On that Guitar Geek website, I looked up Seam and found what their guitarist plays, and it's almost exactly what I want for effects/have.  I also love the guitar tone from Headsparks.

I never said that, nor even implied it. I was merely speaking my mind. Really, I don't even mean to disrespect Dimebag because I quite liked him as a soloist and he seemed like a very personable, pleasant man. That doesn't mean, however, that I'm going to tip-toe around my observations.

Dimebag Darrel died, and a lot of people benefited from it.

Those seem to be hit-and-miss. About half of the pedals (the Daddy-O, the EQ, the flanger) are amazing and an absolute steal. Others are complete crap and fall apart quickly. I don't know what to make of them.

Dunlop Tri-wah. One of the most expensive one's I've found, but it has everything i want. Time to save up. You all have been no help, although you all amused me quite a bit. Anyway, we shall derail the thread into a talk of wah pedals. Go.
