I just do it cause I'm goofy, but I usually like to wear stunna shades wherever.   Fake mustaches as well, along with Cowboy hats.   I'm a retard.

Regarding the cowboy hats - did all the cowboys had really small heads or is my chernobyl-hit-me-hard condition again acting up? Damn, wanted to buy an hat for a long time, but I can't seem to find anything remotely big enough.
Although, I'll probably end up with a sombrero or something...don't know...

I won't pay out my ass for jeans.    I get enough dumb shit from my homo brother who throws dumb Dolce and Gabana and Gucci shit to me in the mail.    I never wear it.

Dude. You need to tone it down. Not really digging the homo brother comment, even if he is gay. Please, please, please. Chill.

I dunno, there are all sorts of Cowboy hat styles.   You just gotta get to a good store that sells them and try 'em on.    Cowboys are hard to please.

Yeah, I was about to write earlier that they look like they might be too large to get that kind of fit post-soak even if they are made shrink-to-fit, but realized I really had no experience with that kind of thing, I've only lurked denim threads on sufu extensively now and then, so I'd just keep my mouth shut.

But the way you want them to fit looks pretty sweet.

Ok, here's my hat. And I lied. It's crocheted, not knitted. But either way, here it is:

I haven't quite figured out the best way to wear it yet, so there's some trial and error to do. I think it has the potential to be awesome. Hopefully my head does as well.

And yes, I am in a bathroom. It had the best light.

I have a hat like that too! And honestly, I think they look absolutely ridiculous when you have your hair tied back and all off your face. Let your hair out or have some bits around your face and it will look really awesome. At least that's how I wear mine and it turns out cute.

I'm excited because I bought some clothes yesterday and I have an entire outfit of things that didn't cost ten dollars (except the shoes and they weren't much over). Pictures soon to follow, probably.

Also, chiming in on the whole "let your hair down with that hat" thing. It's a cool hat and you have what appears to be pretty thick hair, so I think it will look good.

Maiada Im going to say individually those are really nice pieces of clothing but I dont think those shoes will match the dress.  They are both very busy and dont share any common pattern or colours.

I think this only works if you have like a million different items, so it's so obvious it's on purpose that it sort of makes sense. When you're only wearing shoes and a dress it just looks like you have no idea what you're doing.

I think it doesn't work at all if you have a million different things on, it looks like you got out of bed, fell into your closet, pushed over your jewellery box, stumbled through the shoe rack, and got a handbag caught around your foot as you drunkenly danced with the coat rack before leaving your house.

That dress and those shoes would be hella cute together.

Mai, I would not wear the two of those together. I like both individually but if you put them into one outfit it would just be too much.

That being said, I am stealing the shoes as well.

I'm wanting to "grow up" in my style. I usually wear nothing but printed t-shirts and jeans, and my vans. I'm turning 20 this month, and I've always wanted to approach a different more mature style. A couple months ago when I was visiting my boyfriend he came home from work and I was dressed in jeans, my vans and I had a black tank top on with a really nice tailored pink button down** shirt with small black pinstripes, the sleeves were belled at the ends and had the same snaps at the end making it more open around my hands (I wish I had a photo but I borrowed the top from a friend, I do not have it anymore). But my boyfriend was really into it, couldn't keep his eyes off of me, complimented me on how gorgeous I looked. I want to start altering my wardrobe to more stuff like this, but I don't quite know how to without being to drastic. Not to mention I'm worried about over dressing. Any help would be nice.

Also, I'm moving further south and spring is sneaking up. I hate wearing shorts, and skirts mostly because my tops don't look right at all with either. Dresses I'm not against but if I wear one just to be wearing one, I tend to have a home sick feeling, and slightly out of place (overdressed). I really don't know what to do.

**when I say button down it wasn't buttons but it was the same "snaps" used for bras.

Dear fashion thread,

Yesterday I bought a waistcoaty thing, because it was half price and fits so nice.  But now I have the dilemma of having nothing to wear with it.  I am completely at a loss of what I should be wearing with this thing. HELP

Arrrrr, this thread seems to have become all piratey all of a sudden.

also, perhaps a suit? With a tie? All three in concert may give an air of "I am wearing a suit, but I am indie enough to wear a waistcoat too".

Or the shirt you are already wearing is good too.

I have never worn a suit in my life, and that is how I plan to keep it.  Also ties on girls tend to be very 'Avril Laigney' and that is a terrible look for anyone, including Avril Lavigne.

Or howeevr you spell her stupid name.

I can't advise really, perhaps "suit" is the wrong word, I meant in terms of a button up black shirt with one of those nice (but still quite cool looking) ties with the top button undone and the tie loose (but not so loose as to look like its about to fall off)

I generally symplify way too much.

Here is my take on Andy's pants--I think they suit her. I think that 99% of people could not make them work, but my bet is that she will rock them because she's got the attitude for them. I'd be interested in seeing an entire outfit with them to see what she does with it.

She builds her wardrobe with weird unique pieces, which is cool. It's really different than how my wardrobe is solid color (or maybe polka dot) basics, or how Liz's wardrobe consists (from what I've seen) of basics with lots of structure.

This. I had a friend who had some chartreuse and magenta pants that were hideous, but she could wear them because she had the right attitude for them.

Jodie, I would suggest picking up a solid colour top with like, a round neck maybe? I dunno. Something that fits close to your skin and isn't baggy or anything. I am sure I have seen lunchy pull off something like that before? That's what I'd do. I wouldn't mix patterns or anything with it.
