So your dislike it because of a lack of longevity and the recentness of it? Or because of the people doing it? Man I think I might be coming off as a bit of a dick here which really isn't my intention, you are of course completely entitled to your opinion, and I am genuinely interest in it, rather than trying to pick a fight. From my point of view, protective work shoes being fashionable is not that different to jeans, beyond the fact that it is less widespread and they have not had 50 years to permeate into our consciousness as a fashion item. It almost certainly is a fad, but jeans probably started that way, and I bet the kids who started it in the 50s were not all that different to "prissy hipster fucks" in certain ways. It's kind of how fashion works sometimes - certain people adopt old things as a new fashion, and the majority of the time it only has a limited lifespan (or is a fad) and/or never really expands beyond a certain group/subculture, but then once in a blue moon something sticks and becomes wildly popular, like jeans. I guess I just do not see the big deal, beyond fad-hating and general anti-hipster sentiment.
Plus I think Sam's new shoes are pretty rad.
