Megadeth and Graveyard BBQ from GH1, Danzig from GH2. Can't think of anything else, most of what I have found has been "Hmm, I like this band, what else is like them?"

Yes! I bought the Hours album just because of that game. Also yeah the Guitar Hero / Rock Band soundtracks have generally introduced me to a lot of tracks I wouldn't have otherwise heard, particularly the bonus stuff, though it's never really inspired me to check out the actual band themselves.

Also, Omicron (or is it really Omikron?) was awesome.  Best intro song to a game ever.  And the gameplay weren't too bad neither.
