Funk Thompson:
Madahoochi - check out videos at www.youtube.com/jtcbrown, or check them out on ITunes / CD Baby / Pandora. I'm getting ready to put them on Last.FM too, once I figure it out.
Scott Rockwood is a guitar legend in the making, I'd put his licks up against nearly any current non-legendary guitarist - only Buckethead, Santana, Vai, Vaughn, and a handful of others outdo him, if you ask me.
And Shawn Hartung is simply fracking gorgeous - check out the videos for "Choose To Lose", "Nuclear Man", or "Burn the Money" for some eye candy and a sampling of her amazing vocals.
Carabas:
Our Cat Philip. They're not local to my area, but they're really small-time, and they're pretty fun.
MrBlu:
Katherine Williams (Crimson Heart Replica) in Posh Magazine.

Er, yeah. If you could fuse Emo and R&B, this would be it. If you told her that, she'd claw off your face. The "individualists" in Jamaica are terribly scene, and it's really sad. She sounds nice though, but I kinda shake my head at anyone who says "I'm a tattooed nonconformist. This is not a fashion statement, it's a death wish. (You would) usually see me with a Mohawk, oversized shades, skinny jeans and my chucks (Converse). Oh, and I never leave home without smudged black eyeliner. Sometimes I even wear it when I'm just chilling at home. I have 'dress-up-itis'. I love putting outfits together. Makes me feel like a super hero. or villain when I go all out and put together an outfit that just reeks of my personality." [link]

--- Quote from: Objects inside Clouds on 22 Sep 2008, 15:51 ---Tone is a fairly good "post-rock" (if you choose to call them that) band from DC. I;'ve never seen them play but hopefully I will since it looks like they are playing shows again. Last thursday they played with This Will Destroy You if I remember correctly.

So late on this... I saw Tone twice wayyyy back, around 1999-2000. Once opening for GYBE, once for Foetus. They are pretty awesome. The first time I saw them they had 4 guitars 1 bass & 1 drum kit; I think they’d added another drummer and bassist the next time. I’d love to see them again if they’re touring soon.
