Fiasco (http://www.myspace.com/fiasconewyork)
Math punk, I guess. They play with Titus Andronicus, Double Dagger, So So Glos, Deerhunter...
They just got featured on Pitchfork TV for their first music video, which I'm in! (In the big picture at the end)

Oh nice, CKOD were actually pretty freakin sweet. raw and fun :).
The samples for Sylvie on CBC Radio 3 were pretty good, is there anywhere else I can check out some samples or something?
Well c'mon everyone! Post more of your favorite local (Small city) bands!!!! Pimp out more than one! I don't just want to pimp out my fav bands (as much as I like to do so), I wan't to hear other bands who are just breaking out of their area! So, people, link to music from your fav local artists!!
Do I have to capslock to get you all to join in? I'll do it! I swear! ;p

Most of the good bands around here broke up 3 or 4 years ago. I have included the surrounding cities because my city really sucks and the other two cities are very close anyways.

I went to high school with all 4 of the members. Had classes with 3 of them and went to college with one of them. I think they rad.
Some Other Influence

I have seen them several times. Two of the members went to the same school as I did. They have been rocking it out since 2002.

I have seen this band twice. Shot photographs for them once. Awesome band!
Sister Amadeus

They have been broke for several years now, but I still find myself listening to ep and going to their myspace page.
Noise(formally All Cut Up)
Many people have asked me why I have an "All Cut Up" pin on my bag. This is the reason why. I also worked with the lead singer in a grocery store. This band rocks my socks.

Well, living in Austin there's so many local bands I can't keep track of them all, except for the big names like Explosions in the Sky, Okkervil River, Spoon, Voxtrot. But when I was at school in Utah there was a really good indie pops/rock band called Kid Theodore I saw once or twice, and they are pretty awesome. Even though their recordings aren't necessarily as spectacular as their live performances, in which each one of them (except the drummer) is constantly hopping back and forth between instruments, even pulling out an upright string bass for a couple songs, handing out random percussive instruments for the crowd to bang on during others, and being generally energetic and fun enough to get even the most stoic of hipster crowds clapping their hands and stomping their feet, here is the band's Myspace:

I recommend checking out "Call of the Wild," "Lonely Angel" and "Os Passarinhos" to get a good view of their stylistic range. I'm pretty sure one of tne of the dudes went to Brazil or Portugal on his mission for the LDS church, which explains the fascination with Portuguese.
