"If you'll be my bodyguard" by Paul Simon came out when I was 4, and was my favorite song from 5 until about 10 I think. I think I liked that it sort of hinted at a very exciting world with words that I understood, but in combination that confused me a little.
imagist42:
The only two songs I really remember listening to were Weezer's "Undone" and The Cranberries' "Zombie." Throw in a lot of The Smashing Pumpkins and you've got the gist of what I was exposed to as a child, via my brothers.
michaelicious:
Go ninja, go ninja, go!
Other than that, I just listened to whatever my older brother listened to which seemed to just be Weezer and Beck.
bob, just bob:
growing up in jr high and freshman year I listened to this weird hodgepodge of stuff like Pearl Jam, John Denver, alanis morrisette, the smiths, queen and The Grateful Dead.
it was all my mothers music and I grew up with it so that's mainly what I listened to, oh and Gorillaz, they were the first band I liked that my mom didn't so I listened to that to.

Genuine - "Pony"
I was in like fourth grade when this song was super popular. It played everyday on the bus ride home. No joke though, I am often horrified by songs that I hear kids that I work with singing. Which makes me feel better a little, because I had no idea what this song was about.
