Oasis/Bands that are similar?

<< < (4/5) > >>

StaedlerMars:
I actually quite like their new record as well. I haven't really ever heard anything else by them. Except for the obvious Lucky Man and Bittersweet Symphony.

The Verve
Kasabian
The View
The Coral
Cast

There were a whole string of soundalike Brit-Pop bands around the same time as Oasis and Blur but this list is as long as my arm!

I actually looove the Verve, as I had gotten it as a recommendation by MixView , and was listening to it. I've heard them before, so I downloaded all of their stuff xP

Kasabian I enjoy as well, although I haven't heard all of their stuff. The others, never heard of, but certainly will be downloading. o.o;

Also, we really need a recommendation thread or something here, maybe by genre or something. Music Genome Project hath failed me (Damn you Pandora!) in my search for songs similar to Beyond the Sun.

I'm sure you guys know a lot more 'underground' bands and whatnot that would sound similar, whereas as far as commercial musicians go there aren't many that are terribly similar. D:

This may sound like damning with faint praise, but Urban Hymns is probably Britpop's best album. You need to hear it all.

Plus it's the album I lost my virginity to, so high-five for me!

Rez:
Kula Shaker (shudder), The Charlatans, Black Grape/Happy Mondays.

Thrillho:
Kula Shaker had some fucking brilliant tunes. 'Govinda' was amaaazing.
