When I was a student and poor I bought speakers to play Guitar hero on my pc, they were like 25 quid and worth every penny.

The cheap Logitec ones, but they are loud, sound nice and don't look like something strapped to terminator. Just plain black speakers.

And they give your headphones a boost if you plug them into the speakers too which is nicee for my razer pirhanas.

Spluff:
If your not really going for good quality sound you can just pick up a set of Logitech or equivalent (Altec Lansing, as mentioned earlier, etc.) and they'll do you.
